About Breathwork

Rediscovering body wisdom

Breathwork is an invitation to feel – connecting to our body wisdom – and is a powerful tool to release stress and tension.

Our approach at Azemind encompasses various Breathwork modalities, each tailored to specific Immersions. At our core is BBTRS® – the Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System, a therapeutic approach developed by Giten Tonkov. This method is rooted in the observation of how tension is held and distributed in the body, designed to break through the bodily armor developed over a lifetime. BBTRS® invites the release of mental, emotional, and physical blockages, as well as chronic tensions within the nervous system, allowing for an exploration of sensations and emotions often overlooked.

Key benefits of Breathwork

Breathwork is a powerful practice that can help you connect with your body, feelings, and sensations in several ways:

Awareness of Breath

The foundation of breathwork is conscious and deliberate breathing. When you focus your attention on your breath, you naturally turn your awareness inward. This heightened awareness of your breath becomes a bridge to connect with your body and its sensations.

Body Scanning

During breathwork, you are often guided to scan your body with your awareness. This involves paying attention to different parts of your body and noticing any sensations or tensions that may arise. This process helps you become more aware of what is happening within your body.

Release of Tension

Breathwork can facilitate the release of physical and emotional tension held in the body. Deep and intentional breathing can help you identify areas of tension and gradually release it. As you release tension, you may experience a greater sense of ease and relaxation in your body.

Emotional Expression

Emotions are closely connected to bodily sensations. Through breathwork, you may access and express buried emotions that manifest as physical sensations. By breathing consciously and allowing these sensations to arise, you can process and release emotional energy stored in the body.

Grounding and Centering

Breathwork practices often include techniques for grounding and centering. These practices help you feel more rooted in your body and present in the “here” and “now”.

In essence, breathwork provides a pathway to cultivate mindfulness and presence within your body. It allows you to access and explore your inner landscape, bringing awareness to feelings, sensations, and emotions that may have been overlooked or suppressed. Through this practice, you can develop a profound connection with your body and gain insights into your inner world.
