Myofascial Energetic Release

Myofascial energetic release

A deep and sensitive touch and a holistic method of healing pain

It’s an integrative, deep form of bodywork practiced with skillful integrity and acute sensitivity.

Myofascial Energetic Release (MER) possesses the capacity to alleviate both acute and chronic physical pain while concurrently addressing somatic manifestations of emotional and mental distress.

The primary objective of MER is to mitigate pain, restore physical functionality, and establish equilibrium between the body and mind, enabling individuals to lead full and active lives.

The main cause of pain and tension in the body is over-contraction of 5 types of tissue: muscle, fascia, skin, ligaments and tendons.

Key principles

Myofascial energetic Release or MER is a synergistic, dynamic dance of energy weaving together deep and soft connective tissue and joint manipulation, myofascial unwinding, assisted stretches, verbal cuing, conscious breathing, trauma and emotional awareness with release.

The foundational principle of MER resides in the natural ability of the human body to heal and self-regulate through the interconnected dynamics of breath, touch, and movement within the muscle fascias, providing individuals a profound relief from pain.

About Fascia

Fascia is a complex network of connective tissue that surrounds and interconnects every part of our body. It plays a crucial role in providing structural support to muscles, tendons, ligaments, tissues, organs, nerves, joints, and bones, facilitating their proper functioning and coordination.

Without the support of fascia, our skeletal bones would lose their alignment, as they naturally have some space between them and can float independently rather than neatly stacking on top of each other. However, when fascia is in a healthy state, it ensures even strain distribution throughout the entire structure, allowing the body to maintain an upright, flexible, and pain-free posture.

Fascia also creates a smooth interface for your muscles, joints, and organs, facilitating seamless movement without friction or risk of tears. Fascia contributes to joint stability and mobility, promoting improved circulation. Overall, fascia provides an environment that fosters the harmonious functioning of all your body systems.

Fascia is also responsive to our emotional states and has the capacity to retain emotional memories. Eastern healing traditions, including Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, have recognized this connection between the body’s tissues and our emotions for a long time. Furthermore, there is a growing body of scientific evidence that suggests emotions such as sadness, anxiety, pain, and past trauma can become deeply embedded within the fascia.
